First Shoot - 6/11 - White Scenes

Our first day of shooting in the studio was on the 6th of November, where we wanted to film all of our opening white scenes. This is the introduction of the video where our protagonist Georgie, first enters into a big white room which is empty apart from a table in the centre which displays a single cupcake. Georgie sees the cupcake and proceeds to eat it, marking the start of her journey in her head throughout the music video.

This scene required bright white lighting, so it did not take too long to set up, we just had to ensure that the cupcake was well lit, as well as Georgie for her long shots and her close ups, as she moved closer to the table. We only had two cupcakes and so we had to make sure that we got the shot of Georgie biting into the cupcake in the first go so that we wouldn't have to use the spare, or re-shoot.

The hair and make up for this scene was rather simple as we just wanted an every-day, casual look for Georgie. We decided to keep her hair natural, and her make up quite basic.

This was our first time shooting as a group as well as with Georgie. I found that we all worked together efficiently on set, everyone arrived at the right times and we were able to have fun whilst maintaining a professional working environment.

After the shoot I felt really positive about the work that we had done that day, but after looking back at our footage there are definitely several things I would have changed. We all agreed that we should have got more shots from different angles as there is one jump in our framing that goes from a mid-long shot to a close up which looks odd next to each other. I also think maybe we should have established her reasoning for eating the cupcake, maybe we could have possibly used an 'Eat Me' label, similar to the 'Drink Me' labels used in Alice in Wonderland.
